TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The success of AI fueled Taiwan’s exports to surge 8.4% in October from the same month last year, marking the 12th consecutive month of expansion, the Ministry of Finance said Friday (Nov. 8).
The total for October reached US$41.3 billion (NT$1.32 trillion). Imports rose 6.5% from October 2023 to US$34.43 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of US$6.87 billion, per CNA.
The value of exports for January-October surged 10% from the same period last year to US$390.42 billion, according to finance ministry data.
As a result of growing global demand for AI technology, the export of information and communication technology products increased by 28% to reach US$11.53 billion in October.
