TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The government-backed Taiwanese drone supply chain alliance signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Polish-Taiwanese Chamber of Industry and Commerce on Saturday (Nov. 16) to promote drone development.
According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Poland is the second ally of the alliance, following the United States. As the global drone market continues expanding, countries are looking for partners outside China, per CNA.
Chair Hu Kai-hung (胡開宏) said the alliance is an important gateway for international companies seeking partnerships in Taiwan.
President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) said the production value of Taiwan's drone industry is expected to reach NT$30 billion (US$922 million) by 2028. The alliance plans to produce over 10,000 drones per month and aims to be the first drone supply chain hub in the Asia-Pacific region.
Hu added Taiwan and Poland can combine their strengths to boost drone development and production.
Polish-Taiwanese Chamber of Industry and Commerce Chair Bartlomiej Dobosz said Poland is honored to ally with Taiwan. He hopes to foster a mutual exchange of technologies to advance drone development.
