TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — United Airlines announced on Monday (Nov. 18) that it will launch direct Taipei to Guam flights in April next year.
United Airlines plans to provide two weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting April 2, 2025, per ETtoday. The flights will depart from Taipei at 11 a.m. local time and arrive in Guam at 4:50 p.m. local time.
The return flight departs from Guam at 7 a.m. local time and arrives in Taipei at 9:25 a.m. The route will be serviced by Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 166 seats, 16 of which will be business class.
This will mark the return of direct flights for United since they ended in 2020 due to the pandemic. China Airlines is also resuming Taipei to Guam flights for a limited time from Nov. 27 to Feb. 1, 2025, per UDN.
Lieutenant Governor Josh Tenorio lauded the news of the revived route. “This move will help our efforts to expand tourism and provide our residents to pursue economic opportunities and access to specialty healthcare,” Tenorio said, per Pacific Daily News.
Acting Guam Visitors Bureau General Manager Gerry Perez thanked United Airlines for "reconnecting this vital route and strengthening our ties between Guam and Taiwan."
