TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – EVA Airways signed a letter of intent with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) on Tuesday (Nov. 19).
The goal is to encourage more travelers to visit Thailand during the next three years, per CNA. The letter extends plans formulated by a previous accord concluded in 2023.
TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool and EVA Vice President Liao Chi-wei (廖至維) oversaw the signing ceremony at TAT headquarters in Bangkok. The Taiwanese airline operates 28 flights per week between Thailand and Taiwan, with many flights moving on to major European cities.
TAT hopes more travel sector business people, media, and influencers from Taiwan will visit Thailand and promote the country as a holiday destination. According to EVA, Bangkok will become its most important hub outside of Taiwan, and the frequency of flights between Taoyuan International Airport and Bangkok and Chiang Mai will increase to almost 40 per week by 2025.
