TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Optoelectronics and semiconductor equipment manufacturer ChenFull Precision announced Monday (Nov. 18) that the first phase of the Chiayi plant will begin operations in Q2 2026.
ChenFull CEO Lai Ming-tsun (賴明村) said the second phase will begin construction in January 2027 and turn operational in January 2029, per CNA. He said the company is collaborating with a major European semiconductor equipment manufacturer to develop new electromechanical integration modules, with deliveries anticipated in 2025.
Regarding capacity, Lai said the Chiayi plant will allocate approximately 30% to precision machining, 30% to special processes, 10% to welding, and 30% to module assembly and testing.
Lai said semiconductor equipment applications accounted for about 15% of ChenFull's overall performance in 2023. Orders from major customers have returned in the second half of this year, along with new customer orders, leading to an optimistic outlook for major customer business in 2025.
ChenFull’s consolidated revenue in Q3 was NT$1.06 billion (US$32.7 million), with a gross profit margin of 34.91%. The cumulative after-tax profit for the first three quarters was NT$218 million, with a basic earnings per share of NT$3.69.
