TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Asus unveiled its next-gen Republic of Gamers (ROG) Phone 9 series on Tuesday (Nov. 19).
Asus in a press release said the series includes the ROG Phone 9, ROG Phone 9 Pro, and ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition and will be available at major telecoms on Nov. 29, per CNA.
The ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro are powered by Qualcomm’s 3 nm Snapdragon 8 Elite and come with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, per GSMArena. The cooling system employs a central processor design with a six-layer cooling structure, and the graphite sheet area has increased by 57% compared to the previous generation, per Anue.
The camera system features a triple-lens setup and has been upgraded to a six-axis gimbal stabilization system. All models come with the AniMe Vision display, allowing customizable animations.
New AI additions include “AI Highlights Recording 2.0,” which automatically records key game moments, and “AI Recognition Quick Search 2.0,” which helps players quickly search and translate.
According to research by the Market Intelligence and Consulting Institute (MIC), generative AI applications will become the main focus of major mobile phone brands in 2024. The global AI phone market penetration rate is expected to reach 13% in 2024, with worldwide shipments of 156 million units.
