TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan and Lithuania are indispensable partners, Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) said on Wednesday (Nov. 20).
The two countries are on the democratic frontline and must deepen their collaboration, Lin said at a banquet in Vilnius, Lithuania’s capital, Liberty Times reported. The foreign minister is leading a delegation in the central European nation to promote collaboration in drone manufacturing.
Since the establishment of Taiwan’s representative office in 2020, the two sides have laid a solid foundation for strengthening trade and investment, Lin said. He pointed out the bilateral cooperation in semiconductors, ultrafast lasers, biotechnology, and renewable energy.
He hoped that his delegation of representatives from 19 Taiwanese drone companies would help open a new chapter in Taiwan-Lithuania relations.
Lin underscored Taiwan's role as a reliable partner in building a democratic supply chain. With its free-market economy and cutting-edge technology, Taiwan significantly contributes to the global economy, he added.
