TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — EVA Air announced Monday (Nov. 25) that it will launch a new route from Taipei to Dallas next year.
At a corporate briefing, EVA Air President Clay Sun (孫嘉明) said global passenger demand continues to expand, with growth reaching nearly double digits across all regions. Long-haul route revenues have shown significant growth, while the Asia-Pacific region, particularly Northeast Asia, has seen a sharp rebound, surging by 20.4% this year, far exceeding the global average.
In the first 10 months of this year, EVA Air reported an 8.4% year-over-year increase in passenger revenue, a nearly 20% rise in passenger numbers, and a 9.7% surge in capacity. For passenger revenue by region, the Americas accounted for 44%, Northeast Asia 19%, and Europe 15%.
Sun said ticket prices remain high post-pandemic. These high prices have been driven by inflation and service capacity limitations and a return to earlier rates is unlikely.
The airline will operate special charter flights to Japan's Hakodate during the Lunar New Year and increase cherry blossom viewing flights to Aomori and Matsuyama. In anticipation of the 2025 Osaka Expo, new flights to Kobe will be added from April to October.
Sun confirmed the addition of Dallas, Texas as EVA Air’s ninth destination in North America, with flights commencing on Nov. 3, 2025, operating five times a week. He pointed out that Dallas is ranked as the world’s third-busiest airport by passenger volume and is experiencing significant business activity due to high-tech Silicon Valley companies relocating to Texas.
Once the route network is established, it will also facilitate connections to Central and South America, ensuring high load factors for passengers and cargo operations.
