An awards ceremony by the Joint Credit Information Center (JCIC) recognized 46 financial institutions and 63 individuals for strengthening Taiwan’s financial integrity on Tuesday in Taipei.
Award recipients included domestic and international banks, insurance companies, credit cooperatives, agricultural and fisheries associations, and other organizations.
The JCIC is Taiwan's credit information service agency that collects and processes credit data for financial institutions. It helps these institutions assess the overall credit risk of customers during the screening process.
The annual awards ceremony honors member institutions for their efforts in ensuring the security and effectiveness of information queries, improving data submission quality, and promoting sustainable financing.
To add to the event's festive atmosphere, the "Kuei Di (Credit) Family" mascots made an appearance. A short film featuring the mascots was aired to raise awareness about fraud prevention and credit protection.
The JCIC emphasized its ongoing efforts to enhance services for member institutions and collaborate with regulatory authorities to promote green finance policies. It has developed an ESG data platform for enterprises, assisting financial institutions in directing funds toward green industries.
Additionally, the JCIC supports the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) in implementing various regulatory measures, including the establishment of a data-sharing platform and the implementation of a digital reporting and analysis mechanism for supervisory banking data (SupTech).
Furthermore, the JCIC has launched a "financial fraud reporting section" on its official website to combat fraud. Moving forward, the JCIC will provide a more tailored credit database to meet the credit screening needs of its member institutions.
