TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — EVA Air announced on Monday that its Hello Kitty-themed aircraft will operate on the Kaohsiung-Hong Kong route from Jan. 22 to Feb. 28.
EVA Air said Hong Kong is a popular destination for Taiwanese travelers, with frequent flights and a flight time of around 100 minutes. The airline said the Hello Kitty-themed aircraft will be operated using an Airbus A321-200, featuring eight business class seats and 176 economy class seats, CNA reported.
The Hello Kitty-themed aircraft features a new livery design with pink as the main color. EVA Air said morning flights will feature Sanrio-themed items such as tableware, coasters, wet wipes, slippers, and cookie packages.
EVA Air said a special event will be held on Jan. 22 at Kaohsiung International Airport to celebrate the maiden flight. Passengers on flight BR849 will receive exclusive gifts, the airline added.
EVA Air's new Hello Kitty-themed aircraft debuted on the Taoyuan-Chicago route in August, flying from Taoyuan to Japan’s Sendai on Dec. 4. The Hello Kitty-themed aircraft will operate the Taoyuan-Paris route on Thursday, using a Boeing 777.
EVA Air President Clay Sun (孫嘉明) said the Hello Kitty-themed aircraft is popular with passengers. He added that the company’s collaboration with Sanrio aims to bring joy to passengers.
