TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Acer announced Tuesday its debut on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index this year, representing the top 10% of the largest 2,500 companies based on long-term economic and environmental criteria.
The computer hardware manufacturer in a press release said it was also listed on DJSI’s Emerging Markets Index for the 11th consecutive year this year. It was listed among the top companies in the Computers and Peripherals and Office Electronics category, per CNA.
Acer said it is committed to sustainability, including the RE100 global corporate initiative. It plans to achieve 100% renewable electricity by 2035 and net zero by 2050.
The company noted its achievements this year, such as Time’s World’s Most Sustainable Companies and Morgan Stanley Capital International ESG Leaders Indexes for the 11th consecutive year.
Acer said it will focus on solutions to fight climate change. It said its eco-conscious products include monitors built with recycled materials and award-winning packaging designs.
