TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Control Yuan President Chen Chu (陳菊) was hospitalized and is receiving treatment for a brain embolism, Saturday reports said.
Chen was at Kaohsiung Medical University’s Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital recovering from a previous operation. On Dec. 21, doctors removed a 3.5 cm tumor from her kidney.
The morning that she was set to be discharged, she experienced a loss of sensation in her right leg, reported CNA. Doctors discovered that Chen had an obstructed blood vessel in the left hemisphere of her brain.
Chen received treatment promptly on Saturday. Her condition is reportedly stable and she is recuperating, per CNA.
Chen and her family members expressed gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the hospital as well as the public for their concern.
