TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Ministry of Economic Affairs approved Vice Minister Lien Ching-chang’s (連錦漳) resignation on Monday.
The ministry said Lien has diligently served the public and respects his career choices, per CNA. He is expected to serve until the end of February next year.
Lien previously served as director-general of the Industrial Development Administration. In June, he was promoted to vice minister of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, overseeing industrial development, geothermal energy, and state-owned oil and electricity enterprises.
Lien’s resignation follows former Deputy Minister Chen Chern-chyi’s (陳正祺) resignation on Wednesday. Although the administration hoped to keep him, Chen insisted on stepping down, citing career planning and family reasons.
