TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Taoyuan Airport Mass Rapid Transit trains will start operating from Taipei Rail Station at 5 a.m. during the Lunar New Year holidays, Taoyuan City Government said Wednesday.
To make things easier for travelers, the airport MRT’s Taipei Station would also open its doors to the public from 4:30 a.m. The extended service hours will be valid from Jan. 24 until Feb. 2, per CNA.
The official Lunar New Year holiday period lasts from Jan. 25 until Feb. 2. The airport MRT, managed by Taoyuan Metro Corporation, is just one of many public transport systems to add trains during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
Taiwan High Speed Rail will operate 200 extra southbound trains and 168 additional northbound trains between Jan. 23 and Feb. 3, for a total of 2,246 train services for the 12 days.
