TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — 1111 Job Bank released its “2025 Companies’ Favorite University” rankings on Thursday, with National Cheng Kung University coming in first in public schools and overall ranking.
NCKU was followed by National Taiwan University (NTU), National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, National Tsing Hua University, and National Chengchi University for public schools, per CNA. Furthermore, NTU ranked 68th in the QS 2025 World University Rankings, the only Taiwanese university in the top 100.
Tamkang University, Fu Jen Catholic University, Yuan Ze University, Feng Chia University, and Shih Hsin University were the top five private institutions, per PTS. Job Bank noted that this was Shih Hsin’s first time making the top five, owing to its commitment to mass media and facility improvement.
NCKU Vice President Chen Hong-chen (陳鴻震) said the university has 11 colleges, 1,300 professors, and 20,000 students, and is closely tied with Taiwan’s industries. Through its 75 research centers, NCKU generated over NT$7 billion (US$212 million) in revenue last year.
Chen added that students can engage in solving real-world business problems during their studies, which allows them to transition quickly into the workforce. He said this makes NCKU graduates sought after by employers.
Job Bank explained that NCKU, with support from the National Science and Technology Council, established the Gloria NCKU platform. The project connects international companies with the school’s researchers and resources and boasts partnerships from Vietnam to the US.
Job Bank worked with TUN University Network to survey business leaders, managers, and HR personnel. They collected 2,297 valid responses, with a margin of error of ±2.05% at a 95% confidence level.
Additionally, the survey found that 44% of companies offer new graduates a three to four-month adjustment period, with 23.1% willing to extend the period to five to six months.
