TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Nvidia Corporation CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) on Saturday hosted a lunch in Taipei for about 35 leaders of Taiwan’s tech sector.
The senior executives represented companies that are part of Nvidia’s supply chain in Taiwan, per CNA. Among the guests were Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Chair C.C. Wei (魏哲家), Foxconn Technology Chair Young Liu (劉揚偉), and Quanta Computer Chair Barry Lam (林百里).
Huang predicted his next visit to Taiwan would be in May for Computex Taipei. Observers have been speculating he would announce the selection of a location for Nvidia’s overseas headquarters during the global tech fair.
While media reports frequently mentioned Taipei as a candidate, Huang himself said the choice had not been made yet.
During his latest visit to the country of his birth, Huang attended the opening of a factory by Siliconware Precision Industries in Taichung on Thursday. He also gave out presents at the separate year-end parties of Wistron Corporation and of his own Nvidia.
As on previous occasions, he was jostled by bystanders during visits to night markets, this time in Taichung, and signed autographs for members of the public.
