TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Police arrested five suspects on Wednesday allegedly involved in a gang shooting and knife attack in Hsinchu that killed one and injured five last week.
UDN reported that police arrested four suspects at Taipei Songshan Airport at around 9 p.m. Wednesday after arriving on a flight from Japan. One other suspect was arrested at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport before 10 p.m. after arriving on a flight from Thailand.
One other suspect was reportedly arrested on Sunday in the evening at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. All of the suspects allegedly fled Taiwan after the attack and returned voluntarily.

Video shot by FTV shows men at Songshan Airport in custody surrounded by police, some of which were heavily armed and wearing military-style protective gear. People at the airport who reportedly came to greet the suspects berated the media as the men were led away.
Police said evidence suggested the Jan. 24 shooting was the result of a revenge attack. Sources said the site of the incident was a known hangout for San Huan Gang members, and the deceased was identified as one of the gang’s leaders.
CT Want reported that police arrived at the scene of the attack last Friday to find six people with knife and gunshot wounds. One of the victims was reportedly a senior member of the San Huan Gang who died after being shot and his right hand was severed.
