TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — E-commerce company Momo unveiled its carbon reduction dashboard service on Thursday, helping its Green Life members see their carbon reduction impact.
Launched in 2023, the Green Life program allows customers to choose recycling packaging and centralized delivery before checking out. Momo said the results of these decisions are visualized in the dashboard of the company's app, per CNA.
Additionally, Momo said it uses AI-driven 3D modeling algorithms to ensure items are packed efficiently. The company also uses route simulations to find the most efficient delivery routes, reducing carbon emissions.
One of the company’s green logistics services is its consolidated warehouse shipping system, per UDN. If a customer orders products from multiple warehouses, the company will use this system to consolidate the items at a hub before shipping them together.
Through this system, Momo said cardboard box usage has significantly decreased, with an estimated monthly reduction of 60,000 boxes. This resulted in a carbon reduction benefit of 5.6 metric tons of CO2e, equivalent to the annual carbon absorption of 5,491 trees.
