TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Starlux Airlines said on Tuesday that it is set to launch a Taipei to Ontario, California, route starting June 2.
The route is expected to operate four times a week, with ticket sales starting Tuesday. Flights from Taipei will depart at 8:05 p.m. and arrive in Ontario at 5:05 p.m., while the return flight will leave Ontario at 11:10 p.m. and arrive in Taipei at 4:15 a.m. the following day, per CNA.
The route is the airline's fourth destination in North America. It will be operated with the Airbus A350, offering 306 seats, including four in first class, 26 in business class, 36 in premium economy, and 240 in economy class.
Starlux Airlines CEO Glenn Chai (翟健華) said Ontario is near eastern Los Angeles. Passengers arriving at Ontario International Airport can reach Disneyland Park in 40 minutes by car and Palm Springs in one hour.
Additionally, Ontario International Airport is near several Asian communities, including Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese. The route will complement the airlines' Southeast Asia network and is expected to attract travelers flying between Los Angeles and Asia.
Starlux Airlines will also launch two new routes on April 18, including Taipei-Kobe with three weekly flights and Taichung-Kobe with seven weekly flights. The airline will operate the services using Airbus A321neo aircraft, with ticket sales having begun Feb. 5.
