TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – A McLaren sports car valued at NT$17 million (US$520,000) crashed into a home in Miaoli Saturday morning, leaving the driver with light injuries.
The accident occurred in the township of Dahu around 8 a.m. when the car passed through a bend in the road. The driver, surnamed Chen (陳), 57, lost control of the vehicle, which ended up hitting a house, the Liberty Times reported.
Chen passed an alcohol breath test and the cause of the accident is being investigated, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital with only minor injuries to his arms and legs.
However, the damage to the McLaren 720 S might cost NT$4 million to repair, per CNA. Nobody inside the roadside home was injured.
