TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Four people, including visitors from Thailand and South Korea, were injured when a bus came to rest on its side after a collision with a truck in Yilan Friday.
The bus was carrying 16 travelers on their way back from admiring cherry blossoms in Wuling when it left its side of the road and hit a small truck coming from the other direction, the Liberty Times reported. The accident happened around 4 p.m. Friday in the township of Datong.
The bus ended up on its left side across the road, injuring a Thai and a South Korean female passenger, as well as the driver and a passenger of the truck. Neither of the drivers tested positive for alcohol.
The Thai woman did not need hospital treatment, but the three others were transferred to a hospital in Luodong, where they were in stable condition and out of danger.
Because of the long distances involved, the truck and bus were not towed away until after 11 p.m., when traffic on the busy road was restored to normal.
