TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taiwan High School Basketball League (HBL) final four competition will take place at Taipei Arena from March 8 to 9.
To prepare for the tournament, several players from top high school teams trained at Shoot 360, a state-of-the-art basketball facility in Taipei’s Neihu District. The facility features shooting simulators that track shot arc and speed, as well as technical simulators that measure dribbling and passing efficiency, per CNA.
A specialized training program was designed for elite players still competing in the HBL tournament. Huang Han-sheng (黃瀚陞), a shooting guard from Nanshan High School, said the advanced training setup eliminates the need to record his practices and review footage later.
Shoot 360 uses cutting-edge technology and multi-angle cameras to help players refine their shooting mechanics. Huang said the shooting simulator provides instant feedback on shot speed and trajectory, allowing him to make rapid adjustments.

"I have learned that when I get tired, the trajectory of my shots flattens, and my accuracy drops quickly. This was an issue I faced earlier in the tournament, so I must work hard to overcome this problem before the finals," he said.
Huang said that everything in the training base is good, including the shooting simulators that feature automatic ball return, which means participants don’t need to retrieve basketballs. This simple innovation can cut down training time by two-thirds.
The elite training program was organized by Nike, bringing in professional coaches, sports science experts, nutritionists, and professional athletes to mentor young players.
By incorporating advanced technology and long-term development strategies, Taiwan's next generation of basketball players can receive specialized training, improving their chances of competing successfully on the international stage.
