TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — An Indonesian engineer captured this scenic view from Mount Keelung on Saturday, featuring a play of light and shadows to create a layered effect with the mountains.
The 30-year-old photographer, Michael Adi, told Taiwan News he took the photo at about 3:30 p.m. during a hike on Mount Keelung near Jiufen in New Taipei's Ruifang District. The photo captures mountains partially shaded by clouds and shrouded by fog while Taipei's skyline emerges bathed in golden sunlight.
Adi said the photo was taken with a Tamron 17-70mm lens mounted on a Sony A6400 camera. On Monday, Adi posted the photo to the subreddit for Taiwan, where it gained 874 upvotes and 32 comments.
Adi said he works as an engineer at a semiconductor company and has lived in Taiwan for eight years.
He said he was inspired by “the layout of Taipei overlooking the gorgeous landscape of New Taipei and Keelung.” He commented the fog and clouds “add some feeling of mysticism to the picture.”
