TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Indonesia is a key market for Taiwan tourism, Chou Shih-pi (周士弼), director of the Taiwan Tourism Information Center in Jakarta, said on Wednesday.
Chou said that after the pandemic, the Tourism Administration prioritized Indonesia. Since the information center opened last February, it has visited over 300 Indonesian businesses and organized numerous tourism industry exchanges and Taiwan trips, CNA reported.
He said the office continuously adjusts its marketing and promotional strategies based on industry needs.
Chou said the support from Indonesian partners led to “innovative themed travel products." He said it has allowed Taiwan to “capture the interest and admiration” of Indonesians.
Looking ahead, the director said the office plans to expand to cities such as Medan, Bandung, and Surabaya. It will also collaborate with local Indonesian brands to enhance Taiwan's overall visibility and recognition.
Taiwan's representative to Indonesia, Bruce Hung (洪振榮), said that strengthening exchanges between Taiwan and Indonesia is a key government initiative. He hopes for further communication and collaboration with Indonesian travel industry partners to promote Taiwan tourism.
