TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Chunghwa Telecom will attend the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week to discuss satellites with major international operators, the company said Wednesday.
Chair Alex Chien (簡志誠) will lead the delegation to the March 3-6 annual fair, billed as the largest and most influential connectivity event in the world. He is expected to meet with representatives of satellite operators Eutelsat, Amazon’s Kuiper Systems, and SES.
Subjects up for discussion are geostationary, medium-Earth orbit, and low-Earth orbit satellites as well as 6G and AI technology, per CNA. Chien said the company also wants to expand cooperation with traditional telecom corporations.
Chunghwa Telecom will be present at the Taiwan Pavilion and take part in panel discussions to share its experiences, he said. The company will also sign a memorandum of cooperation with Nokia Corporation in Barcelona to design the next steps in the development of 5G in combination with AI technology.
