TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Uni-President Enterprises Corporation recorded an 8.7% profit increase last year marking its second-highest annual earnings.
Uni-President released an earnings report on Thursday that showed revenue for last year was NT$337.932 billion (US$10.3 billion) and said investors would receive a NT$9 per share dividend, per CNA. The company attributed the growth to 7-Elevens in Taiwan, the Philippines, and Shanghai, as well as to Starbucks Taiwan, and delivery service President Transnet.
Uni-President said it will continue to open new 7-Elevens in Taiwan while prioritizing membership services, new products, and digitalization for customers. It said it now operates more than 8,200 stores in Taiwan.
Taiwan's 7-Eleven stores will offer more food brands, and tailor offerings to consumer demands. Uni-President said this means different offerings for the health-conscious, tourists, sports events, and festivals and holidays.
The company said it would invest NT$2.83 billion in Filipino 7-Eleven operations. It said it has a market share of over 87% in the country, referring to the business as its “little golden goose.”
