TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taiwan International Balloon Festival will be held in Taitung from July 5 to Aug. 21.
This year's festival will mark its 15th anniversary. On the opening day, at 5:30 a.m., hot air balloons from around the world will take off at the county's Luye Highland, per CNA.
The county government announced Sunday that starting July 6 and continuing every Thursday at 7 p.m. until the end of the event, there will be seven firework and drone performances at Luye Highland, Chishang Dapochih Wetland, and Taitung Seashore Park.
Every Thursday, at the same locations and times, there will also be projection mapping shows with musical accompaniment, lasting until Aug. 21, the county government said.
Among the concerts, those at Chishang Dapochih Wetland and Taitung Seashore Park will combine stargazing and light experiences. The concert at Taimali Township’s The Aurora Garden, held at 4 a.m., will offer visitors a sensory experience of the sunrise and music.
