TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s printed circuit board revenue topped NT$816.8 billion (US$24.8 billion) last year, a 6.1% year-on-year growth, according to a Taiwan Printed Circuit Association report published Monday.
In 2024, Taiwan’s PCB applications were distributed as follows: communications (34.2%), computers (22.5%), semiconductors (15.5%), automotive (12.9%), consumer electronics (9.9%), and other sectors (5.0%), per CNA.
The association explained that mobile phone PCBs remain a key product for Taiwan’s industry. Although global automotive market growth has slowed in recent years, demand for automotive electronics remains strong due to the rise of electric and autonomous vehicles.
While server and satellite communications account for a smaller portion of applications, they have seen remarkable growth over the past two years, it added.
However, the association said US policy changes remain the biggest uncertainty. Adjustments to tariffs could impact global inflation trends, while shifts in electric vehicle policies, such as easing environmental regulations, could add more uncertainty. China’s deflation risks may weaken consumer market recovery momentum.
The association said while Q1 is expected to be slow, AI server and satellite communication demand is likely to persist, helping to sustain momentum, per UDN. Taiwan’s PCB industry is projected to increase by 2.6% in Q1, reaching NT$186.2 billion.
