TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – China Airlines plans to recruit 110 new pilots this year amid international expansion and the post-COVID recovery of global tourism, reports said Saturday.
The carrier was among several of Taiwan’s top companies present on the National Taiwan University campus in Taipei on Saturday. The job fair also featured popular pavilions for Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., the Taiwan Cement Group, and top banks and financial groups.
China Airlines invited graduates from the university who had made a career at the company, per CNA. They advised students on how to prepare for interviews and tests, while supplying anecdotes about their training in Taiwan and abroad to show job applicants what they could expect.
One of the speakers had studied languages at National Taiwan University, but saw her interest in the airline start at a similar campus recruitment event. The most difficult part of the training was learning about mechanical engineering, she said. She was one of the 11 out of 13 applicants who completed the training course.
The airline said it planned to attend other campus events and recruitment meetings nationwide in March and April. Registration for job applicants is open all year long, but there are strict language requirements.
Successful applicants will be sent overseas for training lasting between 10 and 12 months, before a training period in Taiwan and the appointment as copilot or first officer.
