TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Fubon Guardians unveiled renovations to Xinzhuang Baseball Stadium on Sunday ahead of the start of the new season.
The upgrades, which began at the end of last season, included new lighting controls, artificial turf, and updated outfield seating. The renovations were carried out by the team in collaboration with the New Taipei City Government and the Sports Administration, according to a press release.
The Fubon Guardians said the foul territory was upgraded to dome-grade artificial turf, making it the first professional baseball stadium in Taiwan to feature a mix of natural and artificial turf.

Another major upgrade was the installation of a concert-grade LED lighting system capable of executing special effects. The ticket plaza was also renovated, and with support from Fubon Life Insurance, barrier-free facilities were added, including accessible ticket counters, wheelchair seating, companion seats, and accessibility ramps.
Platforms along the first and third base lines were expanded to 15 meters to accommodate cheerleaders. The total width of the cheering platforms was increased from 90 cm to 120 cm.
The stadium was inspected by officials from Taiwan’s Professional Baseball League, and an exhibition match was held later on Sunday. Adjustments will be made based on feedback from the league and players.
The Fubon Guardians will play their home opener at Xinzhuang Baseball Stadium on April 2 against the CTBC Brothers.
