TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — National Taiwan University of Science and Technology and the Industrial Technology Research Institute developed the Dr. Supply Chain Resilience system to enhance business operations.
The system enables companies to monitor their operational performance in five key areas: digitalization, analytics, decision-making, collaboration, and sustainability. It also provides insights into their industry rankings, per CNA.
National Taiwan University of Science and Technology Management College Dean Tsao Yu-chung (曹譽鐘) said more than 100 domestic companies have adopted the system, including those in the electronics, information technology, precision machinery, and chemical industries. It will also integrate AI to optimize its functions.
The system's development team also created a robotic arm designed to solve the issue of stacking boxes of various sizes and increase pallet usage efficiency in warehouses, Tsao said. The device can consider factors such as the weight and volume of goods, achieving intelligent warehouse operations.
Additionally, the team launched an AI-powered fashion designer recommendation system. It can search for best-selling styles, analyze design elements, and predict trends in the fashion market.
Tsao added the university's College of Management and AI research center provided talent training programs for companies such as Taipower, Chunghwa Post, Uni-President, and Family Mart.
Advantech, an industrial automation equipment supplier, signed a three-year collaboration plan with the university, with a total investment of NT$18 million (US$571,428). The company is working with the university’s Industry-Academia Innovation College to develop technologies in AI, the Internet of Things, cybersecurity, and energy management.
