TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — TECO Electric and Machinery Company is participating in the Smart City Summit and Expo at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center from Tuesday through Friday.
The expo attracts more than 2,000 exhibitors showcasing technologies in digital and green transformation. It also hosts activities on discovering net-zero solutions.
TECO's participation focuses on energy services and urban electricity solutions, per CNA. The company provides energy-saving services for high-carbon-emission businesses and institutions, including AI-based greenhouse gas inventory systems, smart energy-saving systems, virtual power plants, and smart energy management products.
TECO provides smart control and data analytics systems for factories, hospitals, and malls. These systems can regulate operational equipment within facilities and institutions, achieving energy savings of more than 40%.
The company built a virtual power plant at its factory in Hukou Township, Hsinchu. It integrates solar power generation, energy storage systems, and energy management systems, while also incorporating green energy trading capabilities.
TECO Electric and Machinery Co. General Manager Thomas Fann (范炘) said the company is applying for a green energy trading license, which is expected to be obtained in April. He added their factories’ solar energy installation equipment will be increased by 50% this year compared with last year.
The company also provides smart energy-saving systems for printed circuit board manufacturers, server chassis makers, electronic component suppliers, bicycle factories, and large medical institutions.
TECO's subsidiary, Tecom Co., is showcasing its AI-based greenhouse gas inventory solution at the event. The product can monitor carbon emissions and electricity usage at factories or institutions, helping around 25,000 domestic companies complete carbon audits.
Lastly, the company is exhibiting its AI-based chillers. It can reduce energy consumption by 10% to 12% in factories, server rooms, stores, and other facilities.
