TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Chunghwa Telecom, FarEasTone, and Taiwan Mobile are participating in the Smart City Summit and Expo at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center from Tuesday to Friday.
The expo features more than 2,000 exhibitors displaying technologies in digital and green transformation and includes activities exploring net-zero solutions.
Chunghwa Telecom is participating in the event for the 12th consecutive year and showcasing 16 exhibits featuring smart transportation, AI applications, networking, and smart city solutions, per CNA.
Chunghwa Telecom President Lin Rong-syh (林榮賜) said the company's internet data centers hold more than 70% market share in Taiwan. He also said it completed its first overseas AI internet data center in Mexico, supporting Taiwanese businesses there.
Lin said the company upgraded two internet data centers in Taipei and Tainan to AI internet data centers and plans to upgrade four more. He said it will integrate internet data centers nationwide through fiber optic networks to support AI computing and applications.
Chunghwa Telecom has built the "sea to sky" network, featuring submarine cables, fiber optics, mobile communications, and satellites. The company will continue expanding its all-fiber network in Taiwan to meet user demand for high-speed data transmission.
FarEasTone has expanded its digital and net-zero solutions. The company combines 5G with its telemedicine platform to launch healthcare services, which have been introduced to Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, Palau, and Indonesia.
FarEasTone President Ching Chee (井琪) said its uninterruptible power supply solution for traffic signal applications integrates intersection signal controllers and incorporates Gogoro's smart batteries as backup power. She said the system has been introduced in Japan.
Taiwan Mobile is showcasing 12 exhibits, including smart transportation, smart home, and AI applications. The company also unveiled its collaboration with Luxgen Motor on the "next-generation electric vehicle entertainment experience," featuring the company's streaming platform, MyVideo.
The company is also exhibiting its home energy storage and enterprise energy management systems. It said the enterprise solution combines networking and energy storage technologies, saving businesses nearly 20% annually on electricity costs.
