TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — China Airlines said Thursday that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Chunghwa Telecom to integrate AI into its business.
The collaboration will involve sharing technical and industrial expertise to create an AI development platform, per CNA. The company said it is the first airline to work with Chunghwa on such a project, per UDN.
The airliner said it will use generative AI for customer service, enabling real-time audio processing. This will help customer service teams better understand traveler concerns and enhance internal training.
Regarding internal operations, the company plans to integrate AI-based forecasting and warning applications with big data to predict baggage quantity and weight for flights. This will optimize cargo space for aircraft while reducing manpower needs.
Additionally, the partnership will create an AI generative intelligence platform, using machine learning and large language models to manage AI applications more efficiently and reduce development time.
