TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The National Immigration Agency on Wednesday said it has given two Chinese influencers five days to leave the country for advocating PLA aggression against Taiwan.
On Tuesday, Chinese influencer Liu Zhenya (劉振亞), who advocated for Taiwan's annexation by force, left Taiwan hours before a deportation order was to be executed. The NIA said on Wednesday that two other Chinese influencers, Enqi (恩綺) and Xiaowei (小微), must leave the country by March 31 for similar infractions, per CNA.
Xiao Wei was found to have published multiple videos containing remarks such as, "Taiwan's streets are filled with five-star red flags," promoting an invasion. On March 21, the NIA said that after an investigation and notifying the individual to present her case, and in consultation with the Mainland Affairs Council and other agencies, it decided to revoke her dependent residence permit.
Xiao Wei is barred from applying for a new dependent residence permit for five years and is required to leave Taiwan within the deadline. If she fails to comply, the NIA said she will be forcibly deported.
Enqi also posted videos claiming that PLA's military exercises demonstrated “strong military might and firmly safeguard national sovereignty.” These remarks were deemed to advocate armed annexation and aggression.
On March 21, the NIA said Enqi's long-term residence permit had been revoked, and she was ordered to leave Taiwan within the deadline. If she fails to comply, she will also face forcible deportation.
As of now, the NIA has not received any appeals from the two influencers.
Liu had posted multiple online videos promoting an invasion. In response, the NIA revoked her dependent residence permit, imposed a five-year ban on reapplying for residency, and ordered her to leave Taiwan within 10 days.
Liu departed on a flight from Songshan Airport on Tuesday night, a little more than three hours before the deadline.
