TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — E-commerce company Momo plans to expand its same-day delivery service to southern Taiwan, CNA reported on Wednesday.
Momo President Ku Yuan-hung (谷元宏) said the company offers the service to consumers in Greater Taipei, Keelung, Taoyuan, and Taichung. Customers who order before 10 a.m. can receive their goods within six hours in some areas.
Ku said frequently purchased products will ship from its Tainan logistics center, easing the strain on northern warehouses that previously served central and southern regions. This move will improve logistics efficiency and customer experience.
Momo's Tainan logistics center will free northern warehouse space for more products, reduce costs, and speed deliveries, Ku said. The company also plans to expand its delivery fleet reach in central and southern Taiwan.
Momo invested more than NT$3 billion (US$90 million) to build its largest logistics center in Tainan, which launched in November. The center features automated equipment, stores over 3.4 million items, and has a daily throughput of 160,000 items.
The company launched its moPlus membership program in September, targeting high-spending customers with a 4% minimum credit card rebate on purchases for an annual fee of about NT$2,400.
Ku said the company plans to adjust the membership program to attract a broader customer base. He noted the program's high entry threshold has limited membership growth.
Momo offers free shipping options, including free convenience store pickup for purchases over NT$399 and free home delivery for purchases over NT$490. Ku said the company will focus on shopping discounts and improving delivery quality and speed.
Ku added that Momo will also expand its e-commerce marketplace, use AI to enhance marketing and advertising, and increase live-streamed sales.
Momo's revenue rose 3% to approximately NT$112.6 billion last year. However, net profit fell 4.79% to NT$3.45 billion, marking the company's first profit decline in six years.
