TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The National Immigration Agency said on Monday that South Korean influencer Yoo Yoon-jin (企鵝妹), better known as Jinnytty, was barred from entering Taiwan for working illegally.
The Immigration Agency said it barred Yoo’s entry after she arrived in Taiwan on a flight from South Korea on Saturday, per CNA. The agency said she held a Gold Card for culture and arts employment but was not granted entry since she worked illegally in 2023.
This violated entry regulations, and Yoo’s Gold Card was revoked. It said Yoo can apply for reentry when she is eligible.
CNA reported that Yoo said in a live broadcast that she had been barred from entering Taiwan for three years. She suggested this was because she worked at a video game store for one day in 2023 without a work permit for a live broadcast.
Yoo’s failed entry comes after US YouTuber and China critic Lele Farley was barred from entering Taiwan in similar circumstances last month. Farley’s Gold Card was revoked after the immigration agency found he worked illegally in Taiwan in 2023.
