TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Mobile said Friday it has partnered with the Institute for Information Industry to launch a next-generation Security Operation Center for businesses.
SOCs act as a digital security hub within a company, defending assets from attacks. The institute said in a press release that under the deal it will begin technology transfers and commercial deployment.
As a third-party advisor, the institute will leverage its R&D from national digital industry programs to help Taiwan Mobile enhance threat detection, per CNA. The new service will use real-time monitoring to provide enterprise-grade traffic analysis, improve system stability, and reduce breach risks.
Institute for Information Industry Director Li Jung-san (李榮三) said cyberattacks are growing in scale and complexity, making protection essential. “Through SOC-managed services, we aim to support small and medium-sized enterprises and boost innovation in Taiwan’s cybersecurity sector.”
He added the partnership aims to offer firms stronger defenses while driving innovation in Taiwan’s cybersecurity sector.
Taiwan Mobile’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer Chu Hsiao-hsing (朱曉幸) said businesses need fast, effective tools to respond to threats. She commented that highly regulated industries like finance and healthcare will benefit greatly.
Research firm Gartner forecasts the global cybersecurity services market will grow at an annual rate of 11% through 2027.
