TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A fire broke out on Taipei's Yangmingshan on Monday morning, but no injuries have been reported.
At 11:17 a.m., the Taipei City Fire Department received a fire report near Zhuzihu Road in Beitou District, per CNA. The fire was estimated to cover an area of about 100 square meters.
The department dispatched four command vehicles, 16 fire trucks, one ambulance, and 72 personnel to fight the blaze.
The Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters said the fire broke out on the Qixingshan trail. It advised people not to hike or engage in activities in the area.

Currently, the Qixingshan trail (at the Xiaoyoukeng trailhead) and the Xiaoyoukeng parking lot are closed, and buses are temporarily skipping the Xiaoyoukeng Service Center.
Huang Hsiu-ping (黃秀萍), deputy director of the Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters, told CNA that the preliminary assessment indicates the fire may have started from an air quality sensor installed by the National Center for High-performance Computing. However, Huang said the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
At noon, Taipei City Councilor Chang Szu-kang (張斯綱) posted a video of the fire on Facebook.
