TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Sinyi Global Asset Management Incorporation said Wednesday that commercial office transactions in New Taipei reached NT$11.3 billion (US$353 million) last year.
The figure showed a 45% increase compared to 2023, setting a record since the implementation of actual-price registration for real estate. Commercial office deals in the Xinzhuang District led with NT$6.1 billion, or 54% of the total transaction volume, per CNA.
Sinyi Global Asset Management Incorporation President Lin San-chih (林三智) said the district serves as a key connector for industrial parks across Greater Taipei and Taoyuan. With convenient access to major transportation networks, including Taoyuan Airport MRT, Zhonghe-Xinlu Line, and the Circular Line, the district offers connectivity for businesses and commuters.
The Cabinet established two 10-story office towers in the district, which house offices for the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Justice, and Ministry of Interior, along with the Hakka Affairs Council, the Council of Indigenous Peoples, and the National Taxation Bureau. Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute, housing around 20,000 film reels and nearly 400,000 audiovisual works, is also located in the region.
Xinzhuang Fuduxin, a redevelopment zone within the district, has attracted technology companies and industrial manufacturers to establish offices. These include Chenbro Micom, Canon, Lite-On Technology, Ta Ya Electric Wire and Cable Co., and Moxa. The zone also features major recreational establishments, including Hyatt Place, Honhui Plaza, and Ambassador Theatres.
Lin said that growth in commercial office deals in the region was partly driven by local businesses looking to upgrade their office spaces. He estimates that with New Taipei City Government promoting Wenzaizun redevelopment project near Xinzhuang and Taishan Districts, companies there are likely to prioritize office space within the district due to its geographic proximity and the potential to minimize relocation costs.
Lin expressed optimism about the growth of the office market in the district. He added that more and more business owners from Taipei and Taoyuan are expected to establish new office locations in the area.
