TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Japanese illustrator NishimuraYuji's quirky characters are hopping back into the hearts of fans in Taiwan, this time with a brand-new pop-up experience at Taipei's Lalaport Nangang.
Located inside the Japanese retail store Hands, the pop-up showcases NishimuraYuji’s beloved “studio UG” character series and will run until June 30. Three Taiwan-exclusive collaborative items will be available at the pop-up store, including a drink carrier, a multifunctional stand, and a luggage tag strap.
NishimuraYuji is known for his work in illustration, comics, and animation. His studio UG series features a quirky ensemble of animal characters.
Among the standout characters is the “LOVE RABBIT,” a pink bunny that has gone viral on Taiwanese social media. The bunny became a sensation due to its humorous and dramatic phrases.
Each customer is limited to purchasing one of each item. For plush toys, each customer is limited to one piece per style or character.

The exclusive pop-up will offer a wide selection of products, including stuffed toys, keychains, coin purses, clocks, backpacks, tote bags, and cosmetic bags. Also debuting are new releases such as second-generation framed magnets and mini acrylic figure blind boxes, limited to a maximum of 10 pieces or one set per person.
For those interested in visiting the pop-up store, a reservation ticket system will currently be in place. Tickets will be distributed on the first floor of Lalaport Nangang between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. until Tuesday, while supplies last.
On Monday and Tuesday, there will be seven sessions each day, with 20 spots available per session.
