TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Foxconn Spokesperson James Wu (巫俊毅) said Wednesday the company expects robust growth this year, driven by surging AI and electric vehicle demand in the North American market.
The electronics maker is showcasing its latest smart electric vehicle lineup at Taipei International Automobile and Motorcycle Parts and Accessories Show (Taipei AMPA) this week, per a press release.
Wu said AI products will remain the key growth engine this year, while the company also expects significant advances in its EV business, per CNA. Foxconn’s Foxtron EV models — the Model B, Model C, and Model T bus — have already been adopted by overseas clients, with the Model T set to enter international markets in 2027.
The North American Model C may debut by year’s end, with production in Ohio and other US sites scaled to meet customer demand, he added.
Looking at regional trends, Wu noted the company sees great potential ahead for AI and EVs in North America. The company is also expanding production in Taiwan, Southeast Asia, and China to meet customer needs.
Additionally, Foxconn said battery localization is progressing through its Kaohsiung battery cell plant, which has begun mass production. The facility will supply energy storage cells to domestic automakers for testing, with commercial and residential energy storage units planned.
Organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council, Taipei AMPA will run from Wednesday to Sunday at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1.
