TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Commercial Vehicle Show is being held at Taichung International Exhibition Center from Thursday through Sunday.
The exhibition features trucks, electric vehicles, camper vans, and heavy-duty trucks from countries including Germany, South Korea, and Taiwan. The event is expected to draw over 30,000 visitors and generate more than NT$1 billion (US$30.77 million) in deals, per CNA.
According to the event organizers, the vehicle sector is transforming in response to global sustainability and carbon reduction goals. This year’s show focuses on energy-efficient vehicles, AI applications, and cold chain technology for logistics vehicles.
Organizers said the event also includes autonomous vehicle test demonstrations and showcases of Taiwan-made models. Among the exhibitors, Foxtron Vehicle Technologies Co. presents its low-carbon two- and three-wheeled vehicles, while YJ Engineering Consulting Co. displays its autonomous electric vehicle and a new battery technology.
Taiwan Smart Electric Bicycle Association is leading members Aeon Motor Co., Pacific Cycles Inc., and eTreego Co. to showcase their latest e-bike and e-cargo bike innovations. Visitors can explore these Taiwan-made models, view advanced charging equipment, and participate in test rides.
Approximately 10 forums will be held during the event, featuring speeches from industry leaders, scholars, and officials from the transportation and economic ministries. Topics will include the development of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, the impact of AI and carbon reduction trends on the transportation sector, the role of automation in improving road safety, and the future of electric logistics vehicles.
Taiwan Cold Chain Association is presenting refrigerated and frozen trucks, large cold storage facilities, and automated warehousing systems, offering reliable preservation solutions for food and beverage businesses.
Lin Fu-shan (林福山), director-general of the highway transportation department at the transportation ministry, attended the opening ceremony and said the ministry will continue to promote electric vehicle adoption, support the development of Taiwan-made EVs, and launch a low-carbon transportation network.
Taichung’s Transportation Bureau Director Yeh Chao-fu (葉昭甫) also attended the show and added that the city’s public buses served over 82 million passenger trips last year. The bureau is showcasing the city’s electric buses at the event, offering visitors the chance to ride and try the onboard electronic payment systems.
