TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Aeonmotor announced Wednesday that it began mass production for its scooters at its new facility in Vietnam.
Located in Vietnam’s northern Vinh Phuc province, the scooter maker said the factory will enhance its contract manufacturing capabilities, per CNA.
The META 300, an upgraded version of Aeonmotor’s STR 300, was the first model to roll off the production line for export. The company has secured its first North American order of 200 units and expects to complete regulatory certification by May.
In Taiwan, the company continues to expand, with 191 retail outlets across Taiwan as of March, up 10% from late 2024. The growth reflects a broader strategy to strengthen its brand footprint.
Once its US models enter stable mass production and the Vietnam plant is fully operational, export and revenue contributions are expected to rise, Aeonmotor said.
In its board meeting on Thursday, the company posted NT$508 million (US$16.79 million) in consolidated revenue for Q1, up 10.92% year-over-year, per MoneyDJ. Gross margin climbed to 21.6%, and net profit swung to NT$2.73 million, or earnings of NT$0.04 per share.
