TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Influencers and representatives of airlines and travel agencies sat down to afternoon tea in London Thursday as part of a promotional campaign by the Tourism Administration.
The participants said the aromas of the tea made them imagine they had already arrived at Sun Moon Lake, per CNA. The event also featured nut cakes, nougat, and scallion bread in combination with green and oolong tea.
Several of the influencers had already visited Taiwan, while some of them were preparing for their first trip. A travel agency executive described the country as a suitable destination for European travelers, considering its convenient public transport, clean environment, friendly people, safety, and the presence of mountains and lakes.
The guests were not only invited to sample the teas of Taiwan, but were also asked to draw tea fields. The campaign was designed to expand awareness and knowledge of Taiwan to a wider public in the United Kingdom.
The Tourism Administration recently invited four British influencers to promote Taiwan, with the Alishan National Scenic Area in Chiayi County featuring prominently in their trip.
