TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — McDonald's Taiwan announced on Tuesday that its mobile ordering feature will begin rolling out on May 19, with nationwide availability expected by late June.
The service will build on the success of mobile ordering in markets such as South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia. Accessible through the McDonald's app, it will allow customers to skip lining up and select from various pickup options, including dine-in, takeout, and drive-through.
Starting in July, McDonald's will integrate its existing McDelivery service into the app, allowing users to order food, redeem promotions, and earn rewards. In the meantime, customers can use the existing McDelivery website to place delivery orders.
The app will allow customers to accumulate M Points, which can be redeemed for menu items or exclusive member discounts.
For dine-in, customers can place an order by scanning the QR code at their table or entering the table number manually. They can then choose table delivery service to receive their food.
For takeout, customers can order through the app and pick up their food at a designated counter once notified that their order is ready, streamlining the process and reducing wait time. For drive-through, customers can pre-order via the app and pick up their food by providing their order number at the drive-through window.
Other fast-food chains in Taiwan, including Mos Burger and KFC, also offer mobile ordering services.
