TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp. will add four extra train services during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday from May 28 to June 2.
The new services include three southbound and one northbound train. Bookings open at midnight on May 17, according to THSRC.
This follows a late-April update when 127 train services were added due to rising demand. A total of 1,066 train services will run between May 28 and June 2.
Eleven late-night trains will arrive after midnight, with the latest expected around 1 a.m. These trains will include two non-reserved seating cars, numbered 11 and 12.
To meet high demand north of Taichung, the company will increase non-reserved seating on select trains departing Nangang and Taichung stations during peak hours.
On May 29, southbound trains will leave Nangang Station at 25 minutes past each hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. On June 1, northbound trains will depart Taichung Station at 4 minutes past each hour between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.
An extra northbound train will also depart Taichung at 9:51 p.m. on June 1. These trains running between Nangang and Taichung will have eight non-reserved seating cars.
Non-reserved cars will be numbers 1 to 3 and 8 to 12. The trains will stop at every station along the route.
