TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The Tourism Administration opened a service center in Amsterdam Thursday amid growing travel from the Netherlands to Taiwan.
So far this year, the number of visitors from the European country has increased 14% from the same period in 2024, per CNA. The new office in the Dutch capital is the first in Europe since the administration launched one in Paris last year.
As Amsterdam is an important transportation and cultural hub, the service center should strengthen Taiwan’s brand image in Europe and deepen links with local consumers, media, and business, said Tourism Administration Director-General Chou Yung-hui (周永暉).
He also pointed out the important role of the airlines, with China Airlines, EVA Air, and KLM operating direct flights each week between Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport and Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
Taiwan’s size, convenient public transportation, and cycling-friendly environment were likely to attract more Dutch tourists, Chou said. He also emphasized the country’s food wealth and green tourism possibilities.
