TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Foxconn announced Friday a strategic manufacturing partnership with warehouse automation firm Robust.AI to scale up production of its flagship Carter robot platform.
The deal will strengthen Robust.AI’s supply chain resilience and boost delivery capacity as demand for AI-driven automation surges worldwide, per CNA. The company said Foxconn’s scale and technical expertise will help meet orders faster and more efficiently, per UDN.
The Carter robot is designed to slot directly into existing warehouse operations, requiring no added infrastructure. It can flexibly switch between picking, transport, and sorting functions, achieving higher productivity with minimal disruption.
Robust.AI recently deployed Carter units at a DHL site in Las Vegas, where picking productivity rose more than 60% within weeks. Robust.AI CEO Anthony Jules said the Foxconn deal allows the company to support major logistics clients amid supply chain uncertainty and shifting tariff regimes.
“Foxconn’s unmatched manufacturing capabilities make it the ideal partner,” Jules said. “Together we can bring collaborative robotics to market faster and help global companies improve efficiency while empowering their workforce.”
Teng Fan (鄧凡), executive at Foxconn’s Business Group B, said the partnership builds on a deep working relationship. His team has been co-developing Carter’s production process with Robust.AI engineers in the US, helping ensure scalability and performance as volumes increase.
