TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) hosted a dinner with key supply chain partners at the Brick Kiln Restaurant in Taipei on Saturday, drawing a who's who of Taiwan's tech industry.
Huang entered through a back entrance, personally greeted attendees, and delivered a brief speech, referring to participants as “the world’s most amazing CEOs,” per UDN.
Despite heavy afternoon rain, numerous media outlets waited outside to catch a glimpse of the tech leaders and possibly land interviews.
Approximately 30 guests attended, including TSMC CEO Wei Che-chia (魏哲家), Siliconware Precision Industries Chair Tsai Chi-wen (蔡祺文), Quanta Computer Chair Barry Lam (林百里), Quanta Vice Chair Liang Ci-zhen (梁次震), Pegatron Chair Tung Tzu-hsien (童子賢), Wistron Chair Simon Lin (林憲銘), Acer Chair Chen Jun-sheng (陳俊聖), Asus Chair Jonney Shih (施崇棠), Inventec Chair Sam Yeh (葉力誠), MediaTek CEO Rick Tsai (蔡力行), and Foxconn Chair Brand Cheng (鄭弘孟).
Compal Chair Chen Rui-cong (陳瑞聰), who missed a similar dinner last year, attended for the first time this year.
Huang recently returned from a Middle East trip, which US President Donald Trump also took part in. Huang announced that the region would purchase Nvidia AI chips for new data centers, calling it a major success for Trump.
Lite-On Technology General Manager Anson Chiu (邱森彬) told reporters before the dinner that his company is preparing to work with Nvidia on the GB300 AI server and hopes to collaborate in the Middle East.
Mike Yang (楊麒令), president of Quanta Cloud Technology, said AI demand has driven greater cooperation with Nvidia, though it remains unclear if the firm will expand into the Middle East market due to ongoing uncertainty over tariffs and regulations.
Many of the executives at the dinner, including Huang, are expected to attend Computex, which runs Tuesday through Friday at the Nangang Exhibition Center.
